Framing the Future

March 27 - April 9, 2026 Reception April 9 @ 12pm

Framing the Future is a collaborative project between art and dance students in the Space and Time Learning Community (3D Foundations, Sculpture 1, Sculpture 2, and Time Based Media 1) and the Dance Production + Performance classes. Three groups of art students have created experimental spaces that explore ideas related to movement as a liberatory act and future spaces of freedom. A traveling performance will take place in these spaces and structures on Wednesday, April 8 from 1-2pm around campus (see below for locations) beginning in Mac 157. Additional performances will take place in the Belushi Lobby at The Emergence Spring Dance Concert on April 24 at 7:00 pm and during intermission. One piece will be on display in Techcetera Gallery from March 27-April 10 with a reception open to the public on Thursday, April 9 from 12-1pm.

reflective/passage

As humans, we often experience fear in the present when faced with the future. But when we are exposed to the colorful, beautiful potential the future holds, we find our way through the fear in our own reflection–our bright, limitless passage.
