Thompson, the leading curator of Japanese art in the US and Curator of the Japan Collection for the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), Boston, and creator of the MFA’s digital catalog of over 50,000 prints, the largest collection of Japanese art outside Japan. She has curated numerous exhibitions at the MFA and elsewhere and is a leading author. Notable books include Hokusai’s Landscapes: The Complete Series and Pictures of the Floating World: An Introduction to Japanese Prints.
